Shaping
In Shaping, Leap Then Look transform a gallery into a participatory environment where bodies, objects, and movement co-author the work.
Visitors of all ages are invited to touch, wear, reconfigure, and explore. The space is filled with a series of interactive structures, sculptures and wearables which can be interacted with in any way the audience wish. The space is designed to respond to the small acts of exploration we often take for granted, letting every gesture, shift, and interaction become part of the work itself.
Originally commissioned by Modern Art Oxford as part of the exhibition Movements for Staying Alive and developed in collaboration with young people, Shaping transforms the gallery into a site of play, improvisation, and discovery.
“Here, institutional authority gives way to openness. It’s a space of shared curiosity.”
Simon Cartright, Aesthetica Magazine.
Shaping encourages audiences to think of movement not as spectacle, but a way to connect, to communicate, and to reshape the spaces we inhabit.
